SVT warning signs

  • Breathing fast or hard while resting
  • Refusing feeds / feeding then stopping exhausted
  • Unusually sweaty, pale, or gray-blue lips
  • Lethargic, floppy, hard to wake
  • Heart visibly racing (chest flutter)

Do this

  1. Stay calm. Pick him up, check responsiveness.
  2. Go straight to the ER (below). Do not wait it out.
  3. Tell them: "6-month-old, history of SVT, on propranolol."
  4. Call the cardiologist en route.

Choking (solids era)

  1. Coughing loudly = airway partly clear, let him cough.
  2. Silent / can't cry: 5 back blows (face down on forearm, head low).
  3. Then 5 chest thrusts (2 fingers, center chest).
  4. Repeat until clear. Anyone else: call 911.

One event at 1 month, fully recovered, on propranolol. Watch-signs live on the emergency card. Next checkup: ask about the weaning timeline and recurrence watch-window. Complete records copied to the family vault for any future country.

Feeding

Solids era, 6-12 months

Iron-rich first foods. One new allergen at a time, all big-9 before 12 months. Feed to appetite, never to size, weight-for-length trend is the only number that matters for a big strong boy.

Dengue protocols from ~1 year (screens, repellent). Air-quality awareness on bad days. Hand-foot-mouth once playgroups start. Typhoon go-bag has baby supplies + 2 weeks of medication.

Dad protocol

Rough-and-tumble, daily

5-10 minutes minimum, every day. It's the dad-specific lever: self-regulation, courage, body confidence. Graduates with him: floor play now, chase and wrestle at walking, throw-catch and risky-play-within-reach after.

Language

Three languages, deliberately

Each language needs one consistent source. French from Elle daily (a French passport deserves a French speaker), English as household base, Filipino ambient. Lock the plan while he's pre-verbal.

Screens

Zero until 18 months

No passive screens, no exceptions except video calls with family. After 18 months: co-viewed only, tiny doses. The transfer deficit is real; the world teaches better.

Milestones

Watch, don't hover

Sitting, crawling, first words, walking, tracked in the vault, celebrated loudly. Big and strong means furniture anchoring matters more, not that milestones come due sooner.
